Settling into London

Our first day saw two slightly jet lagged souls venture forth to find some sea views. a wonderful train trip from London goes down through Dorset-passing through Exeter, Taunton, and down along the Dawlish coast to Plymouth and further on to Cornwall. The run along the sea wall at Dawlish is one of the prettiest runs on the coast- spectacular scenes and quite a challenge for train drivers in big storms, when the sea sprays over the line and trains. We got off at Plymouth and had a wander in the city. Then did the return journey, taking a slightly different route. The countryside is gorgeous- Mother Nature has kept a little spring for us to see- there are hedgerows still with a sprinkle of their blossoms, and the trees in little forests have the gentle pale green just budding forth. After their challenging winter, everyone is enjoying the sun and blue skies. As we circled around Kent , on our  arrival into Heathrow, we saw the green to perfection,  laying out like wonderful cloth. What a welcome.
We have settled into our unit-all renovated and just beautiful-actually on two levels. We joined the holiday weekend crowd on the Tube, and shopped in Oxford St. With words : mind the gap, you immediately feel right at home back in dear London. There is always more exploring to be done, so that is for tomorrow. I will add some illustrations next entry
More soon
